Promoting Sense-Making and Perseverance in
Limited Capacity seats available

Teacher questioning and prompting plays such an important role in helping support students in productive struggle in the math classroom.  With the Common Core Standards and Math Practices calling for students to persevere in problem solving through more rigorous concepts than ever before, it is vital that teachers talk to students about their work and nudge their thinking.  In this session, we will not only discuss the importance of prompting and nudging while students work, but provide real-life examples of this language being used in our classroom.  Participants will leave the session with examples of language to help elicit students' mathematical thinking in their own classroom.
