Delivering PD doesn’t have to bring tears to eyes. This session will focus on how purposeful PD for our K-12 district has helped us move to a destination district. The session will got through our hits and strikeouts as well as how our continual focus on student achievement drives what we do. This session will include what we do from our mentor/protege meetings in the beginning of the year to opportunities for end of career staff through online, face-to-face, and personalized learning. Batter up, let’s hit one out of the park!

After-School Enrichment and Homework Help

Utilizing the Healthy Communities Grant, Bartonville Grade School offers students in grades 4-8 enrichment activities and homework help 5 days per week.  Masterpiece Monday - Art/theatre; Tech Tuesday - STEM; Real-life Wednesday - Consumer Science; CSI Thursday - Community Service; Chess - Fridays.  Everyday - Homework Help.  This session explains the details on how we accomplished this in our PreK-8 district.

STEAMing to Success: Using STEAM to Improve Districtwide Culture & Climate

Since its inception in 2017, Bellwood School District 88 has hosted its annual STEAM Expo in April. The expositions connected our schools to the community, our students to professionals, and generated an interest and excitement for science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Using Illinois Learning Standards, students engaged in a variety of  in-depth “real-world” investigations. Come learn how we were able to get over 2500+ students, families, and  community members involved in this exciting event!
